Privacy Policy
Effective September 9, 2026. GeoPrix is built and operated by an individual developer, Agustio Maitimu ("we", "us"). This policy covers the GeoPrix iOS app and this website.
The short version
GeoPrix has no account, no sign-in, and does not access your device's location. Everything you build — circuits, results, your driver roster — is stored on your device, not on a server we run, because we do not run one. The app talks to three outside services: Apple's map data (to look up places and road names), OpenStreetMap's public road data (to shape the circuit you draw), and Google AdMob (to show ads, and to process an in-app purchase through Apple). What each of those receives is detailed below.
What we don't collect
- No account or sign-in of any kind.
- No access to your device's GPS location. GeoPrix has never asked iOS for location permission — circuits are built from places you search for or points you tap on the map, not from where you are standing.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We do not track how you use the app.
- No server of ours stores anything you create.
What the app processes, and why
On your device only
The circuits you draw or save, your race results and lap times, and the driver/team roster you set up are stored in the app's local storage on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere by us. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Map search and road data
When you search for a place or draw a circuit, GeoPrix sends the place name or the coordinates you placed to Apple (via MapKit, for search and reverse geocoding of road names) and to OpenStreetMap's Overpass service (to fetch the road geometry your circuit follows). These requests carry the coordinates of the route you are building — not your location, and nothing that identifies you personally. Apple's handling of this data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Advertising
GeoPrix shows ads through Google AdMob to support free use of the app. On first launch, you are asked whether to allow tracking (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt). If you allow it, AdMob and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads relevant to you. If you decline, or in regions where consent is required, ads are shown without that identifier. You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings, under Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, GeoPrix asks for your advertising consent on first launch and you can change that answer at any time from Ad Privacy Settings, in the About panel — tap the GeoPrix icon at the top of the garage screen. Google's own practices, and the list of advertising partners GeoPrix works with, are described at Google's policy on how information is used in AdMob.
In-app purchase
Removing ads is a one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — GeoPrix never receives your card details, billing address, or any other payment information. We only receive confirmation from Apple that the purchase was made, which the app stores on your device to keep ads off.
Saving a race reel
If you export a race and tap Save, GeoPrix asks permission to add that one video to your Photos library. The app cannot read or browse your existing photos — it can only add the file you just created.
Children's privacy
GeoPrix is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no account system and does not collect personal data of its own, there is nothing of that kind for us to hold.
Your choices
- Turn off ad tracking any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Remove ads entirely with the one-time purchase inside the app.
- Delete everything GeoPrix has stored by deleting the app — since all of it lives on your device, there is nothing left on any server afterward.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
