Privacy Policy

Effective September 26, 2026. GeoPrix is built and operated by an individual developer, Agustio Maitimu ("we", "us"). This policy covers the GeoPrix apps for iPhone and Android, and this website.

The short version

GeoPrix has no account, no sign-in, and does not access your device's location. Everything you build — circuits, results, your driver roster — is stored on your device, not on a server we run, because we do not run one. To make the app work and improve it, GeoPrix uses a small set of outside services: map and road data providers, Google AdMob for ads, and, where you allow it, Mixpanel for anonymous usage analytics and Google Firebase for crash reports. What each of those receives is detailed below.

What we don't collect

  • No account or sign-in of any kind, and no names or email addresses.
  • No access to your device's GPS location. GeoPrix never asks for location permission — circuits are built from places you search for or points you tap on the map, not from where you are standing.
  • No upload of your circuits or videos. They stay on your device unless you share them yourself.

What the app processes, and why

On your device only

The circuits you draw or save, your race results and lap times, your championships, and the driver/team roster you set up are stored in the app's local storage on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere by us. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Map, routes and road data

When you search for a place or draw a circuit, the place name or the coordinates you chose are sent to the service that answers the question. On iPhone that is Apple MapKit (search, routes and road names). On Android it is OpenFreeMap (the map itself), OSRM, LocationIQ or Geoapify (routes), and Photon or your phone's own geocoder (place search and road names). On both, road widths come from public OpenStreetMap Overpass servers. These requests carry points on a map you chose — not your location, and nothing that identifies you personally — and we do not store them. Apple's handling of this data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Usage analytics (Mixpanel)

The app sends anonymous events such as "circuit built", "race finished" and "reel exported" to Mixpanel, with the app version, device model, operating system version and country. Each install has a random identifier; nothing identifies you by name. Mixpanel may derive an approximate location (city or country) from your IP address. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this only happens if you consent in the privacy prompt.

Crash reports and remote settings (Google Firebase)

If the app crashes or a video render fails, a report with the technical state of the app (the screen, circuit, number of laps and the stack trace) and a random installation ID is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it, under the same consent rule as analytics. The app also fetches a few settings from Firebase Remote Config (the latest app version, which map-data servers to use), which sends a random Firebase installation ID.

Advertising

GeoPrix shows ads through Google AdMob to support free use of the app. On iPhone, you are asked on first launch whether to allow tracking (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt). If you allow it, or on Android unless you have opted out in your device settings, AdMob and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads relevant to you. If you decline, or in regions where consent is required, ads are shown without that identifier. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, GeoPrix asks for your advertising consent on first launch and you can change that answer at any time from Ad Privacy Settings, in the About panel — tap the GeoPrix icon at the top of the garage screen. Google's own practices, and the list of advertising partners GeoPrix works with, are described at Google's policy on how information is used in AdMob.

In-app purchase

GeoPrix Pro is a one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — GeoPrix never receives your card details, billing address, or any other payment information. The app stores confirmation of the purchase on your device, and records that a purchase was started, completed or restored for analytics.

Saving a race reel

If you export a race and tap Save, on iPhone GeoPrix asks permission to add that one video to your Photos library; it cannot read or browse your existing photos. On Android the video is saved to Movies/GeoPrix on your device (Android 9 asks for storage permission; later versions do not need one).

Children's privacy

GeoPrix is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no account system and asks for no names, emails or other personal details.

Your choices

  • Ads and tracking: on iPhone, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, your device's Google ads settings. In the app, About → Ad Privacy Settings changes your answer to the privacy prompt at any time, which also switches analytics and crash reports.
  • Remove ads entirely with GeoPrix Pro, a one-time purchase inside the app.
  • Delete everything GeoPrix has stored on your device by deleting the app.
  • To ask us to delete analytics or crash data tied to your device, email the address below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
